As we begin 2023 I’d like to focus a little on how health and food are connected.
In my lifetime I have dealt a lot with the medical field and educating myself on how to heal our bodies through nature and not through conventional medicine. It isn’t just one thing you do it’s a series of things. It begins with knowledge and the will to want to heal and not just mask the root of the issue. Next, you apply this knowledge and will to your everyday life. Using your mind and body together to heal. Utilizing nature, food, spirit, and mind to come together to heal yourself from the inside out. We are all in need of healing of some kind, and it all starts from within yourself.
Today we are seeing more and more cases of GI issues, Celiac Disease, Wheat and Food Allergies and why? Could it be the environment, the toxins, the chemicals? The answer is yes to all of them.
Most people who suffer from Celiac and Wheat and Food Allergies already have GI issues and inflammation. To purify our bodies, we need to remove the toxins from our diet. First and foremost, it is crucial, especially in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area to drink purified water, and I do not mean a Brita! I’m talking about reverse osmosis with minerals restored or mountain spring water from a glass bottle not plastic. Water makes up most of our composition, and therefore it is essential to drink it in its purest form to remain healthy. Most tap waters are filled with containments such as fluoride, prescription drugs, chlorine, heavy metals, carcinogens and much more. This is the reason it is crucial for you to purify your water, to prevent disease and other physiological issues in your body.
Our diets should be rich in organic fruits, vegetables, grains and lean proteins. If you eat meat look for local grass fed from start to finish and pasture raised poultry from local farms. If you cannot find that then opt for grass fed and organic pasture raised meats and poultry from the grocery store. These will contain much fewer toxins for the body to process and less inflammation. Refrain from eating processed foods as much as possible, and when you do consume them make sure they are at least organic or Non GMO. The most important thing when it comes to food is to read the ingredients, if you cannot pronounce it or have no idea what it is put it down!
This leads me to Gluten Free foods and how they are perceived as “healthier” for you. The reality is most Gluten Free foods on the shelves are more harmful because they are full of fillers, gums (such as xanthan gum) and other processed ingredients. Gluten Free foods use a lot of gums and fillers to make them taste more like traditional gluten foods. The body does not know how to process these items. This creates a domino effect in the digestive track and can lead to an inflammatory response. Our bodies are not created to ingest and/or absorb food additives. We are made to eat what nature provides unless it has been tampered with… as most of ours has been due to GMO's, pollutants, toxins, and chemicals. This is the reason we are seeing such a rise in all these diseases, GI issues, and much more.
The body is our temple so it’s important that we make it our life goal to nourish it properly. We need to eat little to no processed foods and make smart choices by choosing organic and Non GMO products. This does not mean depriving yourself of a treat every once and a while. What it means is to make smart choices. When it comes to having a treat make sure it’s homemade or made from scratch using high-quality organic or Non GMO ingredients. You only get one body so take care of it. I have seen firsthand what happens to a person when they do not respect their body and watch what they put in it. I do not want you to have to experience the same.
All this knowledge and passion led me to my mission of making people happier and healthier through my foods. It became my purpose and that led me to create amazing GF sourdough bread, pizza doughs, and foods without all the processed fillers, gums, and premade flour mixes. I want to share my knowledge and foods with you and want you to be the healthiest version of you there is!
